RE: Sanabel Island campgrounds - San Carlos RV?

We've stayed at Indian Creek and really liked the park in November and December. In January the prices go up big time. I wouldn't want to stay in that area after Christmas. So much traffic it's hard to get up to the beach and when finally there no parking. Outside the park there is a bus that will take you to the beach and take your chairs. Barb & Bob

Norcold Refrigerator LED Panel is Flashing

Symptom - All LED's are flash, pause, flash, pause. The owner's manuel says to call for service. Does anyone have a self fix for this problem? My DW is insisting that I ask this question. Fuse has been changed. Barb & Bob

RE: Activities, Attractions, Dining, Rio Grande Valley TX 09-10

Tim - Really enjoyed looking at your pics. Loved the little girl's newspaper hats. We were in another City at a Festival and the school children were making and selling them for a fundraiser for their band. I sure hope the Red Tide has moved on. Was on the Florida Beach once and didn't have any idea that the debris causes so many problems breathing etc. until I got home and wondered why I had an annoying cough. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the valley soon. Barb & Bob

RE: Onion Odor in refriq

A few years ago our Fridge stopped working while we were home at Christmas for a week. When we returned to Florida everything had thawed including lots of frozen salmon. What a smell. We purchased items to use at stores but found the right thing to use was crumbled up newspapers and changed them for a couple of days. Took the smell away. Tried charcoal etc. but this worked the best. Hope this info helps. Barb & Bob

RE: Italian Wedding Soup Recipes?

When I make the Italian Wedding Soup I use tiny meatballs made by hand. While watching tv I roll small ones made out of Lean Ground Beef, Ground Pork, Italian Breadcrumbs and a little bit of diced small onion. Put them on a cookie sheet and bake in oven for a few minutes. I sometimes freeze them until I'm ready to make the soup another day. Another tip when adding your egg to the broth make sure it's room temperature it works better. Hope this info helps.

RE: Pretzel Turtles

I like to use the waffle looking pretzels. I think Snyders makes them. I buy the mini rolos at Walmart. Sometimes after I melt the rolo on the pretzel I press a M & M on top. Kids like the different colours. Enjoy

RE: Fat Daddy's Weslaco TX ?

We passed that restaurant the first year many times and thought it didn't look like much. After hearing from friends in the park that they really liked the spot we took their advice and have been several times. We really like the food and the service is good. Much nicer on the inside than outside. Sorry can't remember if they have seafood. Maybe just give them a call before you go.

RE: Shrimp and RGV Winter Texans

Last year after eating at Dirty Al's in South Padre I decided to buy a pound of shrimp to go. Oh, I thought it was so expensive but sure was worth every penny. What a treat. I asked to have it packed on ice to go and they sure accomodated. When I got back to the RV I froze it and had them a couple of weeks later and boy were they good. Live for to-day Barb & Bob

RE: Pharr Crossing

Bilmo - Re: your awning problem. We had it happen twice to the Motor Home. When we were at a Rally we bought a special pin that was installed now we don't have to worry about it happening again. Sure was worth the money (I think it was like $40 installed). Barb & Bob

RE: Just want to say hi to all in RGV

Ralph - You need to pack up and get down to the valley immdediately. You are missing out on so much. Sometimes when we make plans they get changed really quickly. We had reservations for this winter but had to be cancelled because of my surgery. We don't know what next year will bring so "Live for To-day". Enjoy your retirement Barb & Bob

Yes, it's a good spot to shop. We buy all our meat there when in the valley. They have great sales and are really accomodating. If you don't like the meat on the top just ask to look below the next page. What's nice is you don't have to buy in bulk just one or two of the same things. Great for our small freezers in the Motor Home. Also near there is the Breadsmith Bakery which has been talked about on this forum before. Excellent. Barb & Bob

Wow, now Gonzales Burger Spot has a dress code (bells) - how cool. Gee, Kbix it must be hard to decide what hat to wear? Remembered meeting you folks last year and you sat at the end of the table wearing your Orange Texas Hat just like you said you would so we would recognize the RV. Net Group. To the Newbies enjoy your lunch with this group you are only a newbie once everyone is so friendly and lots of fun. Go group - fill this favourite spot in the Valley. Barb & Bob

RE: Hidalgo Winter Lights _ RGV

It's Free no charge to see all the light displays. We went on the Trolley Tour (cost I can't remember how much) but the fumes were really bad. I had folks from our park take the Horse and Wagon Ride and they really enjoyed. Booth is there to buy the tickets. They said that was narrated also. Check the newpaper it will tell you what entertainment they are having each night. It is held outside and there are bleachers to sit on. We went when a group of young boys were there from Mexico and enjoyed their singing and costumes. Make sure you take a camera and walk across the street to stand in front of people's homes. They do have it roped off so you can't go close but they like you to admire their places. It's certainly worth the time to go to see this display. Every year they add more. Enjoy Barb & Bob

RE: Looking for Windsor area campground in November

How about checking Wildwood at McGregor RV & Golf Resort about 20 minutes from Windsor. I know people stay in their park models year round there. Our Camping Club uses this park in the Spring. Barb & Bob
